UPCOMING EVENTS
The Hardin County Back Pack Program
In Hardin County, there are more than 4,200 children age 17 and younger who live in poverty. For many families, having enough food id often a problem.
Many children participate in the free and reduced meals at area schools. But what happens after the children leave school on Friday afternoon and before returning Monday morning or during school breaks?
In an effort to provide food to those children who may go without eating or who will not have enough to eat, the area schools have launched the BACK PACK PROGRAM. Those children participating will receive back packs containing no-perishable food items for them to eat over the weekend.
The back packs sent home with these children every Friday contain items such as peanut butter, crackers, nuts, seeds, tuna lunch kits, toaster pastries and juice boxes.
There will be designated boxes in the lobby of the Cecilia Campus and Elizabethtown Campus for the collection of food for the Back Pack Program thru August 24th
A list of suggested food and beverage items will be in the Mission Information area at the Cecilia Campus and the lobby of the Elizabethtown Campus.
